Teen & Adult Social Group
Teen and Adult Social Groups bring together teens (14 years old and up) and adults who would like to meet peers who are also on the Autism Spectrum. Outings and activities are chosen by participants. Supported by trained volunteers, groups are between 6-10 members.
Social Group helps to build confidence and independence, and provides members with a sense of belonging. Engaging in a social group creates many new opportunities for individuals to make friends, share meaningful experiences, mutual interests, and challenges in their daily lives; here they can feel welcome just being themselves. Activities often include:
Movie and pizza nights
Board Game Night
Video Game Night
Going out for dinner
Birthday and holiday celebrations
Arts and crafts
.... and more! “This program has benefited our son’s socialization skills greatly.” - Parent “Since my son started social group, I have noticed more openness and friendliness on the street” - Parent “Everyone is wonderful with the kids. The activities are age and ability specific.” – Parent
