Women's Autism/Autistic Project

Women’s Autism/Autistic Project

The Women’s Autism/Autistic Project is a brand-new Fall program that Autism Nova Scotia is offering. The Women’s Autism/Autistic Project aims to bring autistic women (18 years old and up) together to connect with each other in a safe and welcoming environment.

Possible outings, activities, and discussion topics are chosen by participants. Supported by Autism Nova Scotia volunteers, the expected group size is 5 -15 people. Registration is free and required to attend.

Recognizing that women can experience autism differently to peers who are of another gender, the Women’s Autism/Autistic Project aims to create a safe and comfortable environment for autistic women/women who have autism to connect and relate to one another. The project aims to provide new opportunities for making friends, share meaningful experiences, mutual interests, and female empowerment.

Activities May Include:
- Boardgame Night
- Community Outings
- Music
- Art
- Book Club
- And more!

Participants are encouraged to bring their own dinner or snacks to the group. Hot chocolate, water, coffee, or tea will be provided.
We will meet at Autism Nova Scotia’s Halifax office- 5945 Spring Garden Road. There is limited parking in the back after hours as well as street parking. Autism Nova Scotia is also along major bus routes. Autism Nova Scotia has a wheelchair accessible entrance at the back.
