Community Leadership

Community Leadership (CL) is a program designed to support Autistic youth in developing leadership and employment readiness skills while having the opportunity to engage in their community by volunteering at non-profits.


Description:

The Community Leadership program is a total of 12 weeks. Participation involves a weekly 3 hour in-person session and optional bi-weekly meetings with staff. Components of the program include goal setting, budgeting, community engagement, pre-employment, daily living, and skill building.

Participants are Autistic youth / youth on the spectrum interested in enhancing skills and knowledge within their communities. Program participants have the opportunity to explore program materials and personal goals through in-person or virtual one-to-one biweekly meetings with a Program Educator.

Peer Volunteers are allied youth, neurotypical or Autistic, who wish to enhance their skills alongside peers and gain experience within their communities.

Ages/Life Stage:

In high school (14-18 years)
