Chris Richards is a member of the Royal Canadian Navy and a father of three. With two autistic children, Chris has strived to advocate for the autistic community. He also brings awareness to organizations such as Autism Nova Scotia, which provides support and resources for families like his across the province.
He takes pride in the opportunity to participate in Walk YOUR Way for Autism Nova Scotia and, for the past four years, has organized a Walk regardless of his geographic location. Over the past years, Chris and his team have walked in Halifax; Odesa, Ukraine; Southampton, England; and even on the flight deck during COVID-19 restrictions.
His participation in Walk YOUR Way across the world has spread awareness far beyond our province as Chris’s team wears their Walk shirts together, celebrate the Autistic community and fundraise for vital programs and services.
Although it is not certain where Chris will be stationed this year, he is confident that he will be walking with his team and building awareness and acceptance for the autistic community during Walk YOUR Way 2023.
